We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations (PR) Director to lead Mips PR efforts. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing an overarching public relations strategy that enhances the company’s reputation, increases brand awareness, and supports business goals. This role involves strategic planning and ensuring consistent messaging across all communication channels.

Mips is a company that specializes in helmet-based safety and protection and is a world-leader in this area. The Mips® safety system is designed to add protection in helmets against rotational motion. The solution is based on more than 25 years’ research and development together with the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

Their head office is in Stockholm and their unique testing facility is also located there. The components for the solution are manufactured in China by sub-suppliers. They have established a subsidiary in China to enable smoother processes with its customers. Today, more than 100 employees work with sales, research and development, production and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive PR strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Branding: From a PR perspective, ensure consistent and effective messaging that enhances the brand image and reputation. 
  • Media Relations: Support the CEO as a spokesperson at events, trade shows, and similar public appearances.
  • PR Campaigns: Supervise the planning and execution of PR campaigns, ensuring they align with strategic goals. Execute certain PR campaigns as needed.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Analyze and report on PR performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the PR budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Crisis Management: Lead the development and implementation of crisis communication plans together with the PR Manager.
  • Leadarship: Lead the global PR team of 1-2 people. 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a PR Director or similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of public relations best practices and strategies.
  • Strong media relations skills and experience.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills in English.
  • Ability to develop and implement successful PR campaigns.
  • Proficiency in analyzing PR metrics and reporting.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
  • Strong crisis management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • International and industry experience is an advantage.
